A group of our ladies at Lulworth House Residential Care Home recently enjoyed a very special afternoon filled with creativity and fond memories. In loving tribute to our much-missed resident Doreen who had worked as a talented hat maker at Collet’s in London, they took part in a delightful hat-decorating activity.
Each resident carefully selected their favourite flowers, beads, and feathers, deciding exactly how they wished to decorate their hats. With glue in hand, they created unique and colourful designs that reflected their own personal styles.
We invited families and team members to join us for the afternoon and everyone wore the fancy hats they’d made. We played Doreen’s favourite Elvis Presley music and toasted her life with a little tipple of choice and her favourite cheerio crisp cakes.
The afternoon was full of conversation and happy memories, and our residents were thrilled with their beautiful creations. It was a wonderful way to honour a cherished friend.
