It’s been a joyful time at Lulworth House Residential Care Home, filled with music and plenty of creativity!
Birthday wishes for Jackie
On Wednesday 29 October, our residents gathered to celebrate Jackie’s 93rd birthday and what a celebration it was! The afternoon was full of smiles and singing as everyone joined in a lively singalong with Archie, enjoying a well-deserved tipple or two.
The room came alive with classic tunes including My Old Man’s a Dustman, Daisy Daisy and Knees Up Mother Brown, before things took a twist (literally!) with Let’s Twist Again, Sweet Caroline and a few of Elvis’s greatest hits. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with music and happy memories.
Festive fun and Christmas video props
Meanwhile, over the past month, our residents have been busy getting into the Christmas spirit by creating colourful props for our 12 Days of Christmas video project. Everyone joined in the fun, making everything from a partridge in a pear tree and a large cow for “maids a-milking” to striped t-shirts, French hen masks, drummers’ and pipers’ hats, swan displays, and of course, five gold rings!
On Tuesday, the big filming day finally arrived and our residents shone in front of the camera, proudly using the props they’d spent weeks crafting. It was a fantastic way to combine creativity and festive cheer, and we can’t wait to share the finished video soon!
