On Saturday 7 September, our brilliant Lulworth House Residential Care Home team members Cheryl and Katja completed a sponsored Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Society at Mote Park in Maidstone.
Of course the pair had to look amazing, so they wore their Alzheimer’s Society t-shirts, homemade tutus and Cheryl had a lovely blue wig. Katja had her purple hair tied up in ‘mini tutus’ and her blue hair down to match her outfit. Katja also made large forget-me-not necklaces and some forget-me-not hoop earrings too, so they both looked beautiful in blue!
Katja wore a photo of Lulworth House on the back of her top and Cheryl wore a photo of her father-in-law, and they gave him pride of place on the memory tree with a handmade photo tag with mini forget-me-nots.
The intrepid duo chose to do the longer 5km walk (Katja says this was Cheryl’s idea!) and made their way with the other participants around the course.
Between them, Cheryl and Katja had hoped to raise £160 – but to their amazement, they managed to collect £765 from generous donations, which is fantastic! A huge thank you to all the friends, family, Lulworth House colleagues and relatives who kindly sponsored them. On top of this, Nellsar would like to support their wonderful effort by topping up their total to £1000.
Well done ladies – we’re all very proud of you!
