Chinese New Year and Dignity Day at Lulworth House Residential Care Home

We’ve had a busy week with our residents here at Lulworth House Residential Care Home.

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, some our of ladies and gents enjoyed painting wooden treasure boxes with colourful paints. They loved getting creative together and it was wonderful to see their smiles and enthusiasm. We also painted a ‘Happy Chinese New Year’ poster to put up, which looked very cheerful.

Our baking group made cupcakes for our special ‘chat and tea party‘ on Friday 1 February, which we hosted to mark Dignity Action Day.

Dignity Action Day is an annual opportunity for health and social care workers and members of the public to uphold people’s rights to dignity, and provide a truly memorable day for people who use care services.

As part of the day we made some beautiful displays for our Home. We were very pleased with our Dignity Tree poster featuring key phrases such as ‘respect’, ‘humanity’ and ‘love’. We also displayed our white Dignity Tree sculpture, on which we hung words and phrases for reflection, including ‘Your Care. Your Dignity. Our Promise.’ We are delighted with them and know they will inspire us all.
