It was Christmas party time at Lulworth House Residential Care Home on Saturday 8 December.
Everyone looked very festive in their Christmas outfits and residents and friends enjoyed singing and dancing around our Home.
Our Family Christmas Party included lots of sensory enrichment activities, which gave our residents a lovely feeling of well-being and engagement with all the excitement and festivities. All their senses were uplifted with scented pine cones, special sensory sequinned cushions, present wrapping and decor, and natural wreaths for touching and smelling.
We also made the most of our lighting, to delight the senses – we had delicate lights and candles, as well as glowing celebratory light up balloons.
For some humour, we had revolving and springing tree decorations which were great fun! We also had some Christmas memorabilia on display, which was perfect for reminiscing about festive seasons of the past.
Poetry and Christmas carols also played a special part in the event and at the end of the party we had our raffle, which went down very well – congratulation to all our winners!
The icing on the cake was a special visit from Santa, who came to entertain our residents and families.
What a fantastic party! We all enjoyed lots of smiles and it was wonderful seeing our residents so contented and happy – a festive and relaxing time was had by all.
