On Wednesday 8 June we celebrated ‘World Oceans Day’ at Lulworth House Residential Care Home to remember the important role our oceans play in everyone’s lives and all the amazing, fascinating creatures that live in them.
The ocean is the source of life. It controls the weather, the climate and even the oxygen we breathe. Without a healthy ocean, we don’t have a healthy planet.Â
Our residents engaged in colouring, sorting and arts and crafts activities, including ‘create your own ocean in a bottle‘ and making a wind chime with shells.
During the afternoon we held a relaxing group sensory session using the sound of waves. Our ladies and gents played with lights and sounds and even tried to hear the sound of the sea in a seashell.
Such a relaxing day with an important message for everyone’s present and future.Â
