Thursday 14 July marked Bastille Day and here at Lulworth House Residential Care Home, we enjoyed a day of celebration.
We started with French cafe music playing in our lounges to set the mood. Our residents engaged in a ball game, counting in French from one to five.
In an art and crafts session we enjoyed colouring pictures of the Eiffel Tower and a also had a game of ‘find the hidden objects’.
One of our residents, Sue, received flowers for her birthday; they happened to be sunflowers and Barbara, who has lived in France, commented there are plenty of fields of sunflowers there! It was an unexpected surprise and everyone got to enjoy the beautiful blooms.
We ended the day by listening to the French anthem, followed by the English one!
