Lulworth House Residential Care Home residents enjoy moon landing reminiscence

Wednesday 20 July marked the 53rd anniversary of the first man landing on the moon, so we were keen to celebrate the day here at Lulworth House Residential Care Home.

Our residents enjoyed watching a short video clip of the landing and flicking through pictures and articles from the newspaper, regarding this important step for humanity.

We had books and encyclopaedia available for everyone to explore, with both scientific and mystical facts about our moon – its stages are associated not only with the tides, but with foraging and even women’s fertility!

During our reminiscence morning, we read a letter wrote in 1969, talking about what the world would look like in 1980, and some of our residents made their own predictions about the future.

To conclude the day, everyone indulged in refreshing ‘galactic milky way milkshakes‘.

What an amazing reminiscence experience!
