Festive baking
We’re slowly starting to give a nod to the upcoming festivities here at Lulworth House Residential Care Home, and recently made a mincemeat cake.
Keith helped to stir all the ingredients and had a great time with our Nourishment and Social Wellness Coordinator Katja – they had a good laugh together! Keith’s family also arrived part way through, and they loved seeing him joining in and having so much fun.
Our Chef Elisio brought the finished cake upstairs after baking for a photo as it came out so beautifully!
Sunday strolls and baking
We had a very wholesome Sunday here at our Home and started the day off with some crisp walks in the garden to see the autumn leaves. Our residents picked some mint from the garden hoping that we had lamb for our Sunday roast!
We then went inside to make some brookie cookies. Jackie was the mixing expert and helped to measure out the size of the cookies.
Cookie treats
Our lovely Katja ran her weekly Monday morning Baking Club. The group made smores cookies, so they were full of marshmallowy goodness – yum! Our residents helped to combine the flour, eggs and baking mix together and form it into cookie shapes on the baking tray.
We all looked forward to trying one with a cup of tea!
