At the end of last month, we were excited to take some of our residents from Lulworth House Residential Care Home to ‘The Retreat Animal Rescue’ in High Halden.
The trip had been discussed during our Residents’ House Meeting, as our resident Joyce had fundraised and worked on an animal sanctuary in Ashford, so we wanted to look into the possibility of visiting somewhere similar.
We actually made two trips, the first one on Thursday 23 September and the second a week later on Thursday 30 September, with drivers George and Patrick taking us to the farm in our minibus.
Our group were very lucky and treated like VIPs on the farm, getting to see many animals and enjoying a wonderful vegan lunch.
The farm is our new favourite place!
We would like to say a very big thank you to all the volunteers at the farm for their hard work and commitment, and making us very welcome.
