Here at Lulworth House Residential Care Home we celebrated Mothering Sunday on 19 March with plenty of cards, flowers and other treats for our lovely ladies!
We had fun during the day, chatting about typical ‘mum sayings‘ and discussed which ones we were told, and which ones we used on our own children, such as “You’ll live!” and “Because I said so..”
We also did an exercise called ‘Other than a mother, I am…’, which involved residents picking all the interests and hobbies they liked which made them unique, for example sports, art and gardening. We had a few laughs over some of the suggestions such as ‘marathon runner’ but many ticked off ‘a baker’ and ‘junk food lover.’ We do like our treats here at Lulworth House!
We also had some resident helping hands preparing for our Mothering Sunday roast dinner. We arranged tablecloths, cutlery and added some fresh flower bouquets to our tables to make them extra special.
