We celebrated Remembrance Day at Lulworth House Residential Care Home by making our own handmade poppies for everyone to wear whilst watching the Cenotaph service on the television.
There was a silence in the room as everyone listened to the heartfelt stories and watched the service with such admiration. It was a gentle morning with teas, coffees and biscuits and we reminisced on how lucky we were to be sitting together, enjoying a cuppa after all their sacrifice.
Our lovely volunteer Alan also came in wearing his service uniform, and reminisce on his personal memories of the war on Armistice Day. Everyone thanked him for his service and spoke about their own memories.
