On Thursday 29 January, we were delighted to welcome Jason, a talented swing artist, who entertained our residents with a wonderful afternoon of live music. The performance was especially popular with our ladies, who enjoyed singing along, dancing and soaking up the upbeat atmosphere. It was a fantastic afternoon that left everyone smiling!
To mark National Puzzle Day, our residents were also invited to choose from a variety of bright and colourful jigsaw puzzles. Together, we spent time completing the puzzles, while our team joined in the fun by wearing puzzle-themed jewellery and accessories created by our talented team member Katja.
The day included an interesting discussion about the history of jigsaw puzzles, learning how they originated in London with map maker John Spilsbury. We discovered that the very first puzzles, known as ‘dissected maps‘, were originally created as educational tools for teaching geography. Who knew?!
