With summer well under way, resident here at Lulworth House Residential Care Home are enjoying a variety of fun summer activities.
Bubble and squeak
Our ladies and gents had a few cuddles with our resident guinea pigs Bubble and Squeak last week. We also enjoyed plenty of sunshine and fresh air in the garden.
Games and garlands
We’ve played a few classic games like bingo, snakes and ladders – with prizes for our lucky winners!
We also made a lovely heart garland of fabric hearts from the charity Silk Elephant who sent us some thoughtful hand-sewn hearts.
The charity was set up by a brother and sister who sadly lost their father at the start of the pandemic and wanted to do something to help people who had been separated from their loved ones because of the lockdown. See their website for more info: silkelephant.org.uk
Music and makeovers
We recently enjoyed a classical music afternoon and some of our ladies were delighted to have a make-up and nail makeover. Meanwhile our keen bakers have been busy decorating a delicious tower of sponge and cream! Delicious!
Coming soon
We are looking forward to a pianist and singer coming to entertain us on 30 July and 13 August, a beach party on 7 August, our annual sports day on 20 August and a special Spanish night on 24 August. Make sure you check back for news on these upcoming events at Lulworth House.
