Our activities last week were all themed around ‘Movies’ here at Lulworth House Residential Care Home.
It was Betty’s 102nd Birthday on Friday 25 September, so we dressed up our Home (and staff!) and made our dining room beautiful with sparkly decorations, balloons and bunting, as well as old movie photos and clapperboards table decorations, all ready for her themed party, which was such great fun!
In preparation, at the beginning of the week we made movie reel shortbread. It was a little fiddly to cut the small holes out of them, but we managed it quite well in the end and they looked great.
On Thursday we made Rice Krispy cake toppers for Betty’s birthday cake and on Friday we decorated her special ‘film, clapperboard and popcorn’ cake, which we presented to her on her special day.
Betty had a super birthday and enjoyed a posh fish and chip lunch to celebrate.
Many happy returns Betty – 102 years young!
