Last week our residents at Lulworth House Residential Care Home joined in with helping out to make a special Carers Day for our hardworking Carers, in celebration of Carers Week (7-13 June).
Carers Week is an annual event to raise awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges carers face and recognising the contribution they make to our residents, families and communities throughout the UK.
Our residents made a beautiful butterfly cake and matching cupcakes with help from our Nourishment and Social Wellness Coordinator, Katja. These were a huge hit at our Carers Week Party!
Katja commented; “Joyce loved helping use the hand mixer and was so enthusiastic that we ended up with cake mix all over the side, walls, toaster and ourselves! …she did also help with the clean up!”
Residents also made a wonderful ‘Thank you tree‘ and display board in recognition of our dedicated staff team.
One of our residents, Bettina, sang her special song, to say thank you and we also received donations from ‘Maidstone presents for care homes’.
What a wonderful day!
