Poppy biscuits
To mark Remembrance Day this year at Lulworth House Residential Care Home, our residents spent time with our Nourishment and Social Wellness Coordinator Katja creating some poppy themed decorated biscuits.
The group sat together and our ladies figured out the words to put on the biscuits, which looked beautiful when finished.
On Friday 11 November, they also enjoyed a wonderfully iced poppy cake together.
Poppy tree
Also as part of our Remembrance activities, we made a special poppy tree display using red tissue paper, glues, glitters and pipe cleaners. It looked so effective and made a wonderful centrepiece.
We spent some time colouring in poppy pictures too, as well as having group discussions about Remembrance Day, which is so important for many of our residents.
Everyone enjoyed getting creative and making something to commemorate the day as well as sharing reminiscence and discussions.
