To kick off our Jubilee celebrations at Lulworth House Residential Care Home, we made some tasty Nutella crowns, fit for a queen!
We used puff pastry which we cut into rectangles, spread with Nutella and then folded into crown shape. The finishing decorations were patterned on with a knife.
They baked beautifully and were enjoyed (with lots of flaky pastry crumbs!) from our trolley with a lovely cup of tea.
We think her majesty would thoroughly approve!
Jubilee cupcakes and show stopper
On Monday 30 May we enjoyed some more Jubilee-themed baking during our baking club when we made Victoria sponge cupcakes.
Our residents enjoyed mixing the ingredients and adding the mixture in to the paper cases for baking. We also enjoyed taking silly photos and had a really good giggle during the session!
Our Nourishment and Social Wellness Coordinator Katja has also been assembling an amazing cake centrepiece for our Jubilee party, complete with red, white and blue icing and chocolate corgis no less! She still has to complete it, and is going to add some bunting on the top!
She also enjoyed some time with our resident Marie, reading some recipe books together, which is always great for discussion and reminiscence.
