Last week at Lulworth House Residential Care Home we celebrated Carers Week with a variety of fun and creative activities.
Carers Week celebrates and raises awareness for paid and unpaid carers alike. Caring is not an easy job, but it is so important; the contribution carers make to families and communities makes a massive impact despite the difficult challenges they face.
To show our appreciation at Lulworth, our residents wrote notes to our carers. We had many lovely thank you notes from our ladies and gents, some were for specific things our carers have done, and others expressed a general appreciation for all the excellent but hard work that they do.
One resident wrote: ‘I think you are all wonderful’, while another wrote: ‘Thank you for being so helpful to us residents, we really appreciate all that you do for us’.
We tied ribbons to the notes and hung them up on a tree decoration that we have in our main lounge so that all our carers could read them.
Our residents also helped paint a banner to go in our dining room, spelling out ‘Thank you’ and we continued to talk about what our carers do for them.
Lastly, our Manager Catherine bought all our Lulworth staff lots of snacks, drinks and breakfast bits for their hard work. It was lovely to see our team members so happy and feeling appreciated.
