When we showed our Lulworth House Residential Care Home residents some marshmallows and spaghetti and asked them to guess what we were doing, we received lots of amused but confused faces!
We had many guesses from ‘Who can eat the most marshmallows?!‘ to ‘Recreating the scene from Elf‘ (if you know, you know!).
But no! Instead we set everyone the challenge of creating the highest free-standing tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows with only one rule – you can’t hold your tower up using your hands once your finished.
Our residents ended up working in pairs to create their towers and there was a silence in the room as they got their thinking caps on (whilst getting a little bit competitive!).
We ended up with a fantastic collection of towers – it was like a marshmallow and spaghetti art gallery at Lulworth for the afternoon.
A brilliant activity for residents who are up for a challenge…and are willing to taste test some marshmallows of course!
