On Saturday 12 August, we held our annual summer fete at Lulworth House Residential Care Home. We had a great afternoon as residents and their friends and relatives joined us for drinks, food, games and entertainment!
We had a number of stalls such as tombola, raffle and bric-a-brac. We also sold the fairy gardens which our residents made earlier that week – they were a big hit and we sold all of them! The raffle was also a big success.
We played some traditional summer fete games for families and residents to enjoy, including coconut shy, hook a duck, ‘roll a penny’ and many more! Everyone loved the games and our stalls did very well.
Our maintenance man Phil did an amazing job making sure the garden was spotless and building these amazing stalls himself!
Besides the games and stalls, our Kitchen Team helped us out with a BBQ where we sold burgers and hotdogs; our residents also enjoyed the lovely BBQ.
We had a 60s singer come in who was incredible with our residents – she got them all dancing and singing – our residents’ relatives also had a brilliant time!
It was a wonderful day and we managed to raise over £300 with the help of relatives and staff which is incredible! We cannot wait to hold more events like this in the future.
