We spent last week at Lulworth House Residential Care Home celebrating the Wimbledon tennis championships as we have many residents who are big tennis fans!
We began by doing arts and crafts relating to Wimbledon, including making tennis balls out of paper plates. Later in the week we had fun with a Wimbledon Tennis Quiz which seemed surprisingly difficult but many of our tennis experts managed to get lots correct!
And throughout the week, of course, we had the televsion on with matches playing for our tennis fans to enjoy.
We finished our celebrations with some traditional tennis treats – strawberries and cream and Pimms! Our residents absolutely loved this activity, with most enjoying a refreshing glass of Pimms, fresh fruit and mint, plus a delicious bowl of sweet, fresh strawberries with some whipping cream.
This really took our residents back to their tennis days and got everyone chatting; Wimbledon celebrations were certainly done right at Lulworth!
